I found my way to Tofu Village House of Soon Tofu based on a recommendation from my cousin. I had been wanting to try soon tofu soup for a while, but I had no idea where to start - there are so many places that offer it.  I'm glad I finally found my way here; it was a delicious, interesting experience.

They always start you off with an assortment of veggie-friendly KOREAN APPETIZERS. They provided a nice little snack while you wait for your food. Interestingly enough, they provide free refills of these dishes so you can nibble on them as a side to whatever dishes you order.

We started with the SOON TOFU SOUP, which was one of two dishes that came with our combo orders.  The dish arrives piping hot in a stone pot with a side raw egg, still in the shell. once we cracked the still boiling soup, it instantly began to cook, and cooled off the tasty, bubbling, spicy broth. The soup is full of soft, creamy tofu, seafood and sliced beef.

Soon after came the DOLSOT BIBIMBAP  which also was served piping hot in the stone pot. The dish had a nice balance of fresh veggies and the raw egg ( this time pre cracked and served in the hot-pot) once again cooked into the rice instantly. The stone pot gave the rice a nice crispy texture as it continued to cook as we ate it.

Would we go back? Yes

Holy Chuck doesn't chuck around. They use fresh meat ground in house daily. This Burger joint provides interesting menu options that go beyond the standard beef patty with cheddar. Some interesting items include lamb, beef and bacon patties, slow braised veal cheeks, seared Quebec foie gras, truffle oil, crispy mustard, and panko crusted Portobello mushrooms stuffed with feta and cream cheese to name a few.

In order to actually taste the burger patties themselves we went for the more simple options. THE DOUBLE CHEESE BURGER was a classic smash burger.  Smash Burgers are created when the cook smashes a ball of ground meat onto the grill in order to create a crispy sear on the outside while locking in all the juices . The salty, homemade CRISPY CHIPS were sooo good, a must try.

Mmmm, THE HOLY CHUCK. Their signature burger is a double cheese burger, with bacon and caramelized onions. I added sautéed chilli peppers, ketchup, mayo and mustard, all against their advice. They like this burger to be served as is, but what's the fun in that?!?

We also ordered THE POUTINE, which came with thick gravy and real Quebec cheese curds. The gravy was a little salty; the crispy chips are a better choice.
